Network Engineer

Network Engineers at Petracca design, implement, monitor, document, and manage local and wide area networks to ensure maximum uptime for our users.

Network Engineer responsibilities:

• Designing, implementing new network solutions and improve the efficiency of current networks
• Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
• Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
• Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
• Investigating faults in the network
• Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
• Nice to have interest in DevOps

Network Engineer job qualifications and requirements:

• Bachelor degree in information technology related field of study with a network engineering focus and at least 2 years of experience
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
• Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions
• Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers
• Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols
• Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems
• Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection
• Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Network security experience
• LAN and WAN experienc
• Fluency in English is mandatory, German or French is bonus
